Buy one while you can!
I won't bore you with the tech details as you can read them above but this really is a brill camera to use
It's nice and solid in the hand and the operating system is very well thought out. Mine was supplied with a charger, batteries and all the cables for in/out functions
At it's most basic, set it to AUTO point and shoot. The only other thing you have to do is remember to flip the flash up if required (it tells you on the display if you do) Other settings are available if required
One last thing...it takes great pictures as well!

E550 Zoom error
This is a nice camera but be warned the web is littered with reports of the Zoom error, also reported here in other reviews. I had this happen once with the lens half out and was able to correct it, by winding the lens outward to it's full extension, but recently it failed while on holiday without the lens entending and no correction was possible. Out of warranty it isn't economic to get Fuji to repair the fault and from other reports it can happen again. Fuji must be aware of this and don't appear to have taken any action for E550 users, so regrettably I won't be buying Fuji again.

Lifespan of batteries
I had the same problem as andrew Waldron aftr a year the batteries just 'died' for no apparent reason. i just went to Currys and bought a new pack of 4 rechargable Energizer ones and they work perfectly and i always have a spare pair now. As for the camera, i purchased it over 2 years ago from another website for £175. I find its ability to extrapolated to get 12.3 megapixels astounding, definetely worth buying.
