Enjoyability depending...4
The enjoyability of this dvd will depends very much on 2 things -
1. How much you like Fall Out Boy.
2. How much you like live music.

For those of you who have never heard live music, don't expect this dvd to sound like the songs you will hear on your cd player. For those that have heard live music and like it, its fantastic.
Expect good songs, good singing and good instramental music. I will point out how different Patrick sounds live to how he sounds on cd, he has a lot more depth and I personally think his voice is quite unusual.
Look out for the "Beat it" cover as it really is excelent, I wasn't expecting them to pull it off to be honest (never having heard it done by FOB before) but I was suprised how good it was.
The behind the scenes part of the dvd is great, I was expecting the "we get up, we eat, we practise" sort of thing to find a bit of that along with a lot of Pete doing amusing things. I wont tell you what they are, it will spoil it but lets say if you like Jackass type things (the funny stuff not the gross stuff) I think you will like it.
Bad points -
Some of the music sounds too quick, as if it is being rushed. But thats about it really
Over all a very enjoyable dvd for the fans of FOB and live music. Not one for people who like the polished sounds of cd only. For those people I suggest you put on your mp3 players now.

If This DVD Phoned I'd Press Star 67.3
To me, Live In Phoenix was a total let-down. As a big Fall Out Boy fan i was pretty excited for this release. On watching it though I found it to be very distant from the band and musically the band wasn't exactly "great". I personally think that Fall Out Boy should have recorded from their Where The Wild Things Are tour because their musicianship had definitely improved and sonically they sounded great. Patrick Stump's vocals were very weak compared to many live songs i have listened to and watched, he cannot get the the right key in some and to be honest i wouldn't have minded if he was playing a small stuffy punk rock venue but in an arena it looks to me that the nerdy kids from the suburbs of Chicago really didn't fit in to that role. On saying that it was still great to watch my favourite band play great songs and the behind the scenes part is a treat to those who enjoy all the four of the guy's personalities!

I got this DVD last month for my birthday and I've watched it twice already. I'm a huge FOB fan and think this DVD is brilliant. The behiend the scenes footage is funny but I was a bit disappointed to find it mainly just features Pete, definitely not enough Patrick/Andy/Joe. If you're a big FOB fan like me then this is for you.
