About the Author
Bo Streiffert is a Swedish yachtsman with 50 years varied sailing experience including time spent in the Royal Swedish Navy as a navigation officer on torpedo boats. It was while he was an instructor on training ships, when still in his 20s, that he came up with the idea of the Skipper's Cockpit Guide and produced the first outline in a booklet which he used to teach the young people on his courses.

Customer Reviews

Excellent5
What can I say? Well I can say that almost everything you will need for basic navigation is contained in this little book.

This is the type of book that you will have on board and will probably be flicking thru eventhough you know everything that is in it. Somehow it condenses all the essentials you need to know and exactly those that you need to revise for your boating/yachting journeys.

Excellent illustrated checklist/summary5
This is the ideal cockpit guide, it's concise and excellently illustrated in colour. It covers almost all of things a skipper might want to review before setting out, and in just 24 spiral-bound, laminated pages. Thoroughly recommended.

Skippers cockpit guide4
Very compact, well illustrated, contains a lot of information on 'memory intensive' data,eg. signals, ship recognition by lights. Should provide a handy reference in respect of this.
Some other subjects covered provide basic learning material for non competant crew and may provide valuable revision for a experienced skipper.
