The aim of this book is to provide a step-by-step journey into Open Space. It begins by detailing all the practical considerations necessary for creating Open Space, and addresses the question, should you do Open Space at all? Types of situations are examined to illustrate which are appropriate for OST and which are not, and issues such as supplies, logistics and who should come and how to go about getting them there are explored. The "electronic connection" is also examined, this enables the creation of instant proceedings, simultaneous multi-site gatherings and more. Finally the reader is taken step-by-step through an Open Space event.

How to run an Open Space from scratch
Open Space Technology (A User's Guide) is one of the best and most readable books of its kind. It's written in very clear and human terms. I very much warmed to the sentiments and views of the author. Harrison OWEN has designed a process that is simple to explain, to understand, that is enormously effective in application. The book is a step by step guide to running an Open Space - all you need is the confidence to experiment. You do not need to be a 'touchy - feely' facilitator to be successful in its application. Take Mr OWEN's advice, try it for yourself and "Be prepared to be amazed".
This is a concept that really works in actual practise!
After reading this book, I attended an Open Space conducted by a trained facilitator. The results were fantastic! Just as described in this User Guide. It is easy to understand and captures the essential understanding necessary to conduct or participate in an Open space event.
