An Excellent Guide to Getting the Most from your DSLR5
This is a great book. It is peppered with effective worked examples, and written in plain English, which makes it an effective tool to help understand the new photographic environment made possible by DSLRs. But it is also useful in that it reminds one of some of the basics (applicable to film SLRs too) which may have been forgotten over the years. If you haven't, it's easy to skim through these. This book cannot be recommended highly enough.

This is the only book you'll need for your digital SLR5
What a brilliant find. My partner had just bought his digital SLR and I wanted just the right book as a present for him. There are several books around but this was the best by far. The content, the design, and the coverage is just what he needed. It's also a beautiful looking book so I won't mind if he leaves it on our coffee table! I should mention also the price.. Great value for money.

Excellent Introduction to DSLR Ownership5
I bought this at the same time as Digital SLR Handbook by A. Rouse! Why both, I have no idea but it was worth getting both! This is a hard back book of good proportions so not easily concealed in a pocket! It has over 190 pages! The one thing I don't like with this book is that some of the black print is printed over coloured backgrounds and whilst it makes attempts to make the print stand out I had to get into good light to read it! Some of the caption writing is quite small, testiment to my eyes being ok that I can read it!

This book gives a couple of histogram examples, maybe more would be appreciated? It takes you through all the steps of digital SLR ownership, without too much on exposure and other basics that are usually well covered in other books!

If you are starting out in the DSLR world this would be a great buy. It also mentions a little on keeping your sensor dust free and what (basic) steps to take to remove dust! When my DSLR picked up a few dust particles and I paniced, but it is not too difficult to remove the specks with blower or brush or swabs!

I will no doubt pick this book up again in the future to brush up on a few things, no pun intended!
