Excellent pictorial history of a Kentish Village
Mary Standen has updated an earlier book of her's (Pembury In The Past, now out of print) It uses picture postcards to show scenes around the village of Pembury, Kent.
Mary describes the scenes, the people, and what happened to the buildings. So it is very detailed and you can compare some of the pictures today if you visit the village.
