a good all round read4
If like me you have just started out then this book is a real eye opener. Inside the covers it is packed with all sorts of different training programs for a learner wanting to get fit to the more serious athlete. we have started to make plans of our own using the advice from this book. if you have limited training time but still want to compete then this book is worth the read. there are drills for the pool mountain bike training cycling and running. Fantastic work outs for a treadmill as well. the one thing i will say is by the end you will need to get a heart rate moniter for the zones.

There are better2
I wasn't totally impressed with this book. There are far better out there, if I was you buy the Triathlete's Training Bible. This book looks very much like just a cut down version of the Triathlete's Training Bible, all the same information is included here in much the same format, just very much cut down.

The perfect training companion for recreational triathletes5
If you are new to triathlon or want simple to use effective training plans then this is the book for you.
There are more comprehensive training manuals out there such as Joe Friels Triathlon Training Bible, but I found them too involved for my level of training and commitment to the sport.
The training plans in this book are easy to adjust to your own needs and guide you through periodisation and training planning without making it daunting. There is a plan for everything from your first sprint to Ironman training, and for every level of time commitment.
This book has transformed my training, I thouroughly recommend it.
