Tissues and Issues4
A wise choice to release the highly anticipated album on the back of the huge success of 'debut' single 'crazy chick'. Already being hailed as best pop single of the year, charlotte has had a fantastic start to her pop music career.
Although a risky choice to ditch the classical music and move into the mainstream market i think she has pulled it off and produced an album containing a whole range of genres and moods. A lot of pressure is on charlotte to be the saving face of pop music but she will be able to do it. Although the majority of the public love to hate her and will critisize her regardless of how good this album is, you cannot ignore her voice and songs such as future single 'call my name', the girls aloud-esque 'let's be alone' and intriging and personal 'confessional song' indicate that she is filled with confidence and maturity.
My personal favourites would have to be either the quirky upbeat 'moodswings' (brilliant lyrics) or the spanish operatic fusion 'casualty of love'
This is the perfect album to reflect charlotte's maturity, confidence and talent as both a singer and a songwriter with a album containing out-and-out pop anthems to Motown-infused tracks and heartfelt ballads which provides something for everyone to enjoy!

The Voice of a Pop Angel!5
I wasn't convinced that "Charlotte goes pop" would work, but it certainly has. There's everything from downright raunchy to quiet and reflective. If you're thinking of buying on the basis of liking the two or three tracks you've heard on the radio, then go ahead:all twelve tracks are quality. There's no substitute for class.....and Charlotte's got it in abundance.

Talk about Moodswings!4
Charlotte Church is well known as the soprano from Cardiff who belts out the classics, selling millions of albums of hymns and light opera to crossover classics buffs. She's also pretty well known for her extra-curricular activities too, from blabbing boyfriends, weight related gaffes and other classic foot-in-the-mouth incidents.

She re-invents herself on this album, casting aside the classical façade, and releasing her inner pop star. The album lets Church show her pop, funk, rock and even flamenco talents, but she sounds like a different singer with almost every track. The opening track (and second single) "Call My Name" could have been mistaken for a Shania Twain song, and the same can also be said for the first single "Crazy Chick". They're both buzz-worthy songs, but a long, long way from "Voice of an Angel", especially the lyrics.

There's no filler material here, but listen for tracks where she sounds like Wilson Phillips, Madonna, Amy Lee and even Olivia Newton John. Slightly ballad-heavy, other tracks to watch are "Moodswings", "Finding My Own Way", the dance ready "Let's Be Alone", "Casualty of Love" and the grand finale "Confessional Song".

If this experiment pays off, it'll be extremely interesting to see which direction she goes in next.
