Editorial Reviews
Amazon.co.uk Review
One of the reigning genuine delights of children’s television, eight of the adventures of Shaun The Sheep are brought together on this compelling and vital DVD.
The creation and work of Nick Park and his team at Aardman Animations (whose other delightful creations include, of course, Wallace & Gromit and the more recent Flushed Away), Shaun The Sheep follows its title character, who it’s fair to say isn’t one to go with the flock. And, with a strong backing collection of characters, including the memorable sheepdog Bitzer, the result is a collection of charming and very funny escapades with real, honest family appeal.
As you’d expect from Aardman, Shaun The Sheep is an exquisitely animated piece of work, painstakingly detailed and clearly a real labour of love. But it’s the writing too that underpins these eight instalments, and while you can’t help wondering if a few more of the episodes could be squeezed onto the disc, there’s little arguing with the rewatch value on offer here. Not least because of Shaun’s likely near-magnetic hold on the younger end of its broad audience.
A firm and refreshing riposte to those who claim children’s television is nowhere near as good as it used to be, Shaun The Sheep is simply terrific, wholesome entertainment. And it’ll happily give the vast majority of supposed-kids’ TV shows a run for their money… --Jon Foster
DVD Description
It's chaos in the countryside with that rebellious Shaun the Sheep!
Shaun is a sheep who doesn't follow the flock - in fact, he leads them into all sort of scrapes and scraps, turning peace in the valley into mayhem in the meadow. Shaun and his pals run rings around their poor sheepdog Bitzer, as he tries to stop the farmer finding out what's going on behind his back. Every day brings a new adventure for Shaun.
Featuring eight baa...rilliant adventures from the fantastic BBC series, loved by children and adults alike: Shape Up With Shaun; Bathtime, Fetching; Take Away; Still Life; Scrumping; Little Sheep Of Horrors; The Kite. Also includes a delightful Shaun sing-along.
Shaun the Sheep's adventures are produced by Nick Park’s Aardman Animations studio, the creators of Wallace and Gromit.

Priceless, very engaging for all the family
Recorded these on the PVR when they were showing 2 episodes per night. These very rapidly became the highlight of the evening - amazing how easy it was to get all of the children (7,9,11) changed, teeth brushed & ready for bed so they could have their "Shaun treat". Adults were entranced as well.
The absence of dialogue puts even more emphasis on the strong points - facial expressions, absurdity of the plot etc - fantastic humour. I am already planning on ordering several copies as presents for friends around the world.
over - what?
Did people write "much over-priced" deliberately??? I can't believe my eyes! Hope there will be extras on next DVD with documentary part titled 'making of Shaun the Sheep' so every ignorant may learn how long / how much work it takes to make jut one minute of animation! And come on! We spend more on beer or cigarettes per week!
Although I could get it for free simply by recording episodes from TV, I'm definitely gonna buy and proudly put it next to other productions of Nick Park (e.g. brilliant Creature Comforts)
One other thing - the absence of dialogue makes it so universal, that I finally can buy DVDs for my non-speaking English friends or relatives!
And - the BBC may know the kids will want it, but they might not know that the adults want it even more!
I would be just happier if I could get all episodes on one DVD - just to save the space, not money
love it
