Customer Reviews
Powerful techniques - read and re-read.
This book contains a number of powerful and exciting tools for understanding not only your internal motivations and drivers, but also those of others. Practical suggestions and pointers are given to help one develop the techniques described in the book. You will need to read and re-read this book in order to effectively absorb the mass of information contained therein - multiple cross-references can be seen in the text. There are several exercises seen throughout the book, so you can get a feel for the way that the influencing techniques work.
Good book - bad print
This book is quite good, although some of the tips of the trade of figuring out someone's unconscious goals (by watching their lower lip!) are rather far-fetched. The print of the book I don't like; too large face, and horrendously slipshod illustrations that really must be redone. Some pages look like they've been stencilled. This book really has an outdated (1984!!) feel to it. Buy another, more modern book on NLP.
The classic work on using NLP in sales and negotiation
One of the best things about this book is that, as the title suggests, it effectively answers that old chestnut about NLP being manipulative. Genie has simplified the Meta Model down to five types of "Pointers" which you can anchor to your fingers so you can remember them easily! She also has useful exercises for developing sensory acuity.
