cant wait. ignore uneducated tossbuckets
Pete the Poet
Another installment into the life of Peter Doherty, I've heard a few things about it and it is a bit more light-hearted. A few ballads perhaps.
Please ignore the Press-Pete that you read about and put aside your uneducated hatred for the man and give it a listen.
I am writing a review before it comes out in retaliation to the previous comment. If you don't like Peter, or his music... Don't listen to it. SIMPLE AS THAT. Don't vent spleen.
Intriguing
I have to say that like most flash-in-the-pan, so-called poets (isn't everyone these days), Pete Doherty has passed me by.
Bar the collaboration with Wolfman a few years ago ('For Lovers'), I really don't have any time for the guy... or the controversies... or the lifestyle... I really could not give a toss.
However, this single was a little underhand for me. That is not fair. I'm a fan of Dot Allison, who it turns out works quite a bit with our 'Pete' and his band 'Babyshambles'. So I gave this a listen.
Sorry but I don't understand why I like it so much. I can't blame it on alcohol, or drugs, or women who I may want to get my leg over with who may have a thing for him... nobody to impress but me.
His voice sounds like an embryonic Joe Strummer mixed in with a little Robert Smith from the Cure.
Does this mean I have to listen to the album now? Dot?
