Better used on longhaired cats!
I bought this for my Cocker Spaniel to try and remove a lot of his top coat but the Furminator barely touched it so no good on him.

However I have used it with great success on my longhaired Birman cats, it does work well and remove lots of excess hair from them so I guess it just depends on the breed of cat or dog and their individual type of coat.

One thing to take into consideration is that the Furminator is an extremely sharp rake and you could cause damage to your pets skin if you use it to hard but insensible hands it should be fine.

A Godsend!
I bought this for my 2 English Springer Spaniels as they often get a bit matted once we've been out on the hill. It's fantastic and my dogs love being combed with it. Once you've been using it for a while you can really see a big, big difference in the condition of the coat. I think this is the best comb on the market for de-shedding, I would definitely recommend one to anyone. I will definitely be buying one again.

Might have expected too much
I bought this to use on my border collie/GSD hoping it would deal with her thick undercoat but it did not make any impression on it. Perhaps I bought the wrong size though because the medium one would have taken far too long as she doesn't have any patience.
