Product Description

Get ready for a fictional account of the world's most popular video game hero... of the 1980s. Matt Hazard is coming out of retirement and making his next-gen "comeback" against all his old enemies in a hilarious parody of the last 25 years of gaming.

"It's Hazard Time!" The classic 80's videogame star, Matt Hazard, is back in Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard. Eat Lead sees Matt Hazard get his chance to prove once and for all that he is the king of shooters when Wallace "Wally" Wellesley, new owner of mega game publisher Marathon Megasoft, gives Matt his comeback role starring in a new title for Xbox 360 and PS3.

In the world of Eat Lead, however, everything stops being a game and becomes reality when it is clear that Wally is using the new game to bring about Matt's death once and for all. With only the mysterious "QA" to help him, Matt must fight against zombies, cowboys, space marines and more to keep his game from being over.

With an original storyline by David Ellis, Eat Lead's unique blend of comedy and action will provide gamers with a shooter experience like no other with hardcore gunfights intersperced with wickedly smart humour.

  • Ingenious storyline and setting that's never been explored before in a videogame
  • Third-person shooter with polished next-gen graphics
  • Celebrity voice talent - Neil Patrick Harris (Doogie Howser, Harold & Kumar, How I Met Your Mother) and Will Arnett (Arrested Development, 30 Rock, Blades of Glory)
  • Hilarious script written by David Ellis (2008 Writers Guild of America Videogame Writing Award-Winner)
  • Unique visuals that will transform what's typically seen in videogames
  • Point-and-cover system - a new innovation in the cover gameplay mechanic

Fun, first person shooter and retrofeel has it takes the mick out of 20 years of gaming :P3
I brought this game on the back of reviews from gamespy and other such websites.

True the fact the gameplay is a bit clunky and inferior compared with most first person shooters on the market but unlike many of those generic halo/gears/half life wannabees this game is fun to play and gives a retrospective look at the last 20 years of gaming.

I wouldnt not recommend buying this unless you have played many of the popluar games of the last 20 years...

Not the best game but fun4
Collecting achievement points is a silly thing to do I know, but so is collecting stamps :-)
Anyway this game is good for close to or even 1000 achievement points.
No multiplayer, not the best graphics but a funny story line an fun to play.

A game with potential. Wasted potential.2
First off, let me just state that this is not a good game at all. It plays like, well, every single other over-the-shoulder shooter in the world. It has an acceptable soundtrack, and the writing can be clever sometimes, but the gameplay is so awful that playing this game feels like a chore. Enemies can, and will, spawn in directly behind you. And they will spawn in droves. Expect to spend way too much time re-doing the same encounter because a random enemy spawned behind you and one-hit-killed you with a shotgun. The boss fights are just as bad, as enemies spawn during those, too. It has some fairly funny segments - a boss battle late in the game parodying JRPGs, for instance - but they just can't make up for the horrendous gameplay. On the bright side, it has some fairly easy achievements, so if you like gamerpoints, go hog wild. If you want a good game, just walk right on by.
