Manufacturer's Description
Inspired by the craftsmanship of Venetian glassblowers, the T220HD is the embodiment of Samsung's design philosophy - natural beauty that defies standardisation. Unlike other monitors on the market today, Samsung are just as concerned about how a monitor performs as well as it looks. The unique crystal-like frame is both transparent and opaque, giving the monitor a handcrafted feel. The smooth clean lines and variety of colors will make this monitor the centerpiece of any room in your home - no matter how sophisticated it may be. With the built-in digital television (DTV) tuner, the T220HD immediately widens your entertainment world. Unlike many monitors, the T series can decode and display free, over-the-air digital TV broadcasts without buying any additional equipment. So now your PC monitor enables you to watch your favorite TV programs while working on your PC. Now that's multi-tasking!

    Exactly what I wanted.5
In my review I would like to clear up some confusion from other reviews.

I spent a long time looking at this item and reading all the reviews, from different websites too, so I will list some things I saw and what I discovered.

Please note, in all of the following I have not used this screen as a TV.

I bought it for the purpose of a big computer monitor and a screen for my PS3, so other peoples opinions may be different when using it as a TV.

First off, I saw one review (on another website i think) that said this model didn't have speakers. Well it has.

Alot of people have meantioned the sound quality, when I loaded a PS3 Game (COD5 if it matters) I didn't notice it at first, until I started a game and it did sound quite a bit 'tinny' however, I played for about an hour and I completely forgot about the 'bad' sound quality, so yes, its very tinny and there's no bass to it, but it is clear and it didn't annoy me, so I'm happy with that.

    2. 1080p. When running the PS3 through the HDMI, this screen DOES run in 1080p mode, so the people who say 'that can't happen' well it does. My other TV runs at 1080i and will not display anything if the PS3 tries to run at 1080p. So I can confirm that this unit runs at 1080p, the picture quality is very, very good. I'm used to playing on a 37" TV, and I got used to this 22" screen very quick, and I have problems seeing detail on other peoples TV's sometimes.

When running as a computer monitor it runs at the maximum resolution advertised, the picture is very, very crisp and clear, and I couldn't be happier with the way it looks. the screen is big enough to run 2 applications side by side, which is what I need it for when running as a pc.

As other people have meantioned the brightness is excellent! As a monitor it was maybe a little too bright, which can be fixed with the settings very easily, I'm very happy with the brightness of the screen.

And lastly, the 'wobbly stand' :

When I unpacked this I set it up on my computer desk, I decided to give the desk a nudge to see what happened, and yes it does shake a little bit like a jibba jabba, however my desk is fairly sturdy and it didn't wobby when typing. It will be used on a solid office desk which doesn't move at all, so this won't be a problem what-so-ever for me. I can understand people having problems when using this on a cheap make it yourself computer desk.

I think thats everything I wanted to meantion. The issue about it being 5ms and not 2ms as advertised I do not know, and I don't know how to find out, so I can't help there.

For £200 you can't ask for much more5
I read through many reviews before purchasing this monitor but now i have received it i definitely made the right choice. I kept reading about the sound being poor and the stand being wobbly but for under £200 these features were never going to be top end and besides the picture quality is fantastic!!!!

The input alternatives are great and the DTV is sharp and crisp. Works well with vista following a few tweaks.

If you are worried about the sound then use the money saved buying this TV to invest in a pair of speakers but really its not THAT bad!

I'd also say doin't worry about the stand. Mine sits on a dedicated shelf and because i have a wireless keyboard it does no wobble when i type. Unless there is an earthquake or i'm are cleaning it then it won't move at all!

The free delivery from Amazon only took 2 days. Ordered Monday lunch. Arrived Thursday Morning so can't complain on that either.

    Overall very happy.

    Excellent product5
Have had this for a couple of months now.

I was struggling to find a single unit around this size that would double up as both a TV, PS3 screen and PC monitor. 720p from a monitor of this size isn't really a high enough resolution.

Taking my chances as this was the only real contender I've been nothing but impressed. Plenty of input and output options. Brilliant image quality for both TV and computer use. The tuner is excellent and all the menus are easy to use. The TV guide is one of the best i've used personally (panasonic, sony, phillips). The only features that I miss in a telly are a timer (unless I havn't found it) and the little now/next bar that some TV's have along the bottom. From what I can tell the only way to see whats on is to go into the full guide. However the channel your watching does stay on with both audio & video.

Sound quality is also good from such small speakers. When buying I expected to permanently use my 2.1 PC system but so far haven't seen the need.

Sometimes the image from the freeview tuner can look a little blocky up close (1m ish back) but move back to a more sensible TV viewing position (2m plus) and I can't notice it.

    All in all highly recommended.
