No more waxing
Sick of messy waxing and decided to give this a go. Very simple to use, although its considerably more powerful with mains plugged in.
The massage bit is quite good, it numbs the area before the hair is pulled out. In fact I found I couldnt tolerate the pain without it and I tried.
OK the epilator....If you have thick or deep rooted hair, you will still experience pain and you have to go over the area a few times. I found it far easier and less painful to use by pushing down harder (massager bit first) and the results were good.
For fine hairs, they come out very easily and more or less pain free. No need to press on, but you still have to go over the area back and forth a couple of times as a few can be missed first time around.
All in all, its LESS PAINFULL and not messy like waxing, I had no bleeding from the hair root at all and the results were good.
You also get a shaving head attachment and a nice little bag to keep it all in. Theres also a bath scrunchy but quite frankly you can get them for 50p in any beauty shop so thats no big deal.
I think its totally worth trying anyway and will ultimately pay for itself and save you money in the long run.
philips corless epilator pinky/purple one
well i got this epilator just this morning and i've already done both of my lower legs. I decided on getting this epilator because of the other reveiws.
so, bad points.
well, the head is a bit small so you can't do a lot of hair at a timebut its about the same size as a razor blade when shaving so it's not all that small.
It does hurt a little bit but not incredibly much. I'm only 14 and i didn't find it so bad so it must be saying something. and the massaging head does help a lot because it either massages so the leg goes a bit numb or it makes everything vibrate so you can't feel much due to the vibrations. i was suprised at how much it didn't hurt aswell since it was really quite painless and you get used to it so quickly. But, after you have finished doing your legs it stings a bit afterwards. And i find that if i close my eyes and wince on the most painfull parts (inner legs, underneath the knee) then it doesn't hurt as much.
the noise. I'ts so loud! it scared me a bit at first but after a while you get used to it. and obviously the noise does get louder as you turn up the setting.
and, The battery life. When fully chared it only lasts about 25 minutes and if you're a slow person like me its not long enough really. But, the cord to recarge it is very long so you can epilate while charging and still get into the harder to reach places without being too too restricting.
good points.
well it does look really nice and it fits nicely in your hand when you're using it.
the massaging thing, as ive seen before is really helpfull as it numbs nearly all the pain
it comes with a cute little bag to use when your on holiday and such like, a little bath scrubby thing that is lime green and goes really well with the epilator wich hekps prevent ingrown hairs. abd a head for the epilator for harder places like that need more precision and a cleaner to cleaner the epilator to keep it all nice.
overall i found that it was much better then shaving which is the only thing ive used before this.. apart from waxing a few years back.
But, i found that it didnt remove all my hairs and i still have soome really short hairs that are stubbly. but i think this is because ive rcently shaved my legs so my hairs were still quite thick. But my mum whose never done anything to her legs, her hairs were moved instantly and her hairs are soft so i think that after a while when my hirs grow back softer they'll remove it better and be smoother.
overall i think this is a very good epilator for a starter as it is very easy to use and relitivly pain free
well, i hope i helped you with my reveiw.
thanks
Better than expected!
Just bought this on strength of previous reviews, am well impressed!!
Only done legs at mo, but really no more than a slight prickle rather than pain, quite fascinating at how long hairs are under your skin....
I will try bikini area after bath tonight.
First time I've ever used one, discovered to use it very slowly not like a shaver or it misses too many. Barely any 'plucked chicken' look on legs either, a lot less than wet shaving in fact.
To finish I'd say I'd wish I'd bought one years ago.......
