Purchased this for my Panasonic TZ7 camera and it has so far exceeded all expectations. The size is just right and it protects the camera well and aslo stores extra battery and card if you need to do so. Belt option is my preferred choice but the shoulder strap may prove useful too.

Well done, LowePro!

Useful little pouch
I got this to hold a Canon Powershot A570 IS, which is a bit 'chunkier' than the Canon Ixus range. Although the camera went in OK, it wasn't what I would call a perfect fit. Also, the little card pocket on the middle padded orange divider is at the same height as the net pocket on the outer part of the main compartment, so if you put a card in the middle pocket and a couple of AA batteries in the net pocket they lie on top of each other and make the pouch bulge when it is closed.

Throwing caution to the wind, I turned the pouch inside out and cut off the middle divider. The pouch then fitted the A570 like a glove. A spare card fits in the net pocket, and it's just possible to drop a couple of spare AA batteries in the bottom of the main compartment and let the camera sit on top of them (battery compartment/grip down), but it's a tight squeeze and not something I'll be doing.

The 'AW' bit in the name refers to the 'all weather' cover that can be pulled out of a slot between the pouch and the velcro-fastening belt loop (which is itself well thought out and very effective) and stretched over the bag. While I can see the use of this on one of the big Lowepro rucksacks, it seems a bit superfluous on a belt pouch that will be under a jacket anyway if it rains. It also causes a bulge in the pouch when it is tucked away. So the scissors came out again, and the AW cover was snipped off.

After all this I ended up with a somewhat slimmer pouch that is very comfortable to wear on a belt, and holds my A570 as if it was designed for it.

As far as other cameras go, my daughter's Ixus 400 fitted in the unmodified pouch OK together with a spare Li battery and card, but was not quite as snug a fit as the A570. An old A70 (which is bigger than the A570 and takes 4 AA batteries) could just be squeezed into the modified case, but it was quite awkward and not a combination I would recommend.

Great little camera bag
I have a lowepro slingshot 200AW for my dSLR and love it so thought I'd get this bag for my Canon Ixus 860IS.

Intially when I saw it, I was shocked at it's tiny size (I can almost cover it up clasped between both my hands)! But my worries were for nothing as the camera fits like a glove! Not too tight that you have to yank the camera out, not too loose that it'll rattle around.

When you open up the bag, there are two compartments, one for the camera and another for bits and bobs... there's also a card holder and a little netting holder in the bag. I've manage to put 1 spare battery, 1 spare SD card and a SD USB card reader inside and it all zips up tightly and secure. Can prob fit more in without problem.

Construction wise, it's solid - what you expect from lowepro! You also have the choice of attaching it to your belt via a double velcro system that's very secure, or you can use the strap provided to sling it over your shoulder. However, due to it's size I recommend you attach is to your belt. It even comes with the all weather (AW) cover which is very good for light rain. Haven't tried it out in heavy rain yet... but as it's quite small you can easily pull your jumper/coat over it (as long as you don't mind walking around with a bump on your side). Also the padding is not bad for a bag this size, all round protection for your camera is sufficient (though the sides could be a tad thicker, but that's me being picky and trying to find something negative to say about this bag).

All in all, a very good buy and I recommend it for anyone looking for a good bag that can hold their compact digi camera as well as spare accessories. There are other sizes available like the 10aw or 30aw for smaller/larger dimension cameras.
