Customer Reviews
It's good, it's up to date and it's a bit of a challenge
The Chord charts for each song are very clear and enable me to finger the chords correctly and more easily. Since I have only ever played single fingered chords, this is a great aid to my playing.
As well as the chord symbols and diagrams, you are given a suggested voice registration, rhythms and tempos for each song.
There is a wide selection of tunes ranging from the early nineties to the late nineties.
Overall, the book is great value for money and definitely user friendly.
Not bad, useful, but not the easiest.
Having brought this product for my little sister whose musical skill is less than virtuoso-level- ok so total beginner, we found that although we could play some of the songs- and much to the delight we recognised most of them!- the claim of being the 'easiest keyboard collection' is slightly mistaken.
Yes, the songs are well known and therefore easier to play and yes, there are no complicated instructions. On the other hand, it does require prior knowledge of how to read music and the general chords and such.
No misadvertising occured, it just implies an ease that is only easy for the average musician
For a heartening rendition of Barbie Girl or When the Going Gets Tough I would really recommend this book but it is not for the total beginner as my sister was unless you are willing to transcribe it all after purchase. Good luck!
good book
nice layout with the chord chart layout at the top of the page for each song, easy to read, only thing is keeping the book open on the right page but thats the tendence with new books i guess. good for a begininer wishing to progress further.
