The best book about the Holocaust I've ever read!!!5
If I Should Die Before I Wake was the best book abou the Holocaust I've ever read! Told from the poin tof 14 year old Chana. Chana is a jewish girl who is ripped from her home and family and taken to a long line of concentration camps. Only to see her mother, father, and brother die. With the help of her grandmother, Bubbe, she is able to find the strength to go on . Even a Auswitch were people are brutally murdered everyday. And where everyday everyone wonders is it my turn to die today? This book really brought me to reality about the Holocaust and the awful things people faced. This book is very sad, I cried many times, and I would recommend it to anyone over 13. THIS IS A GREAT BOOK!!!

One of the best YA books on the subject5
Hilary, a member of a neo-Nazi group, is hospitalized after a motercycle accident. While in a comotose state, she is transported back to Poland in the 1940's and into the life of a Jewish teenage named Chana. Hilary's experiences (through Chana) in a ghetto and concentration lead her to greater understanding of the people around her in both the past and the present.

I first found this book while searching for titles for a WWII unit for my eighth grade English students. It became the most popular book in the unit. My students and I like this book both because of the detailed descriptions of WWII Poland and because of the connection with life in 1990's USA.

The language in the book, while graphic, is also very moving. This is a book that stays with you long after you read the last page.

An excellent book!5
This is by far one of the best books I have ever read. I enjoyed this book so very much because it is a story about World War 2, my favorite subject, and it had somewhat of a twist to it. It is like no other book I have ever read and I will never forget it.

This book is about the neo-nazi groups of today and the hardships of being Jewish during World War 2. There are many books written about this subject, but what makes this one special is that it has two sides to it. One side is from the perspective of Hilary Burke, a highschool neo-nazi in the present, and the other from Chana, a Jewish girl in Europe in the 1940's. Both sides are very different, but in the end they come together. This is a wonderful book.
