Product Description

Imagine that you speak only Mandarin and you want to read Shakespeare.

Somebody has to translate it into your language. This book will present technical analysis to you in your language and in the order that makes sense to you.

Use the first section to get an overall understanding of what technical analysis is all about. Then, taking one chapter at time, see how it applies to what you are already doing. All the concepts presented in the book can be used to supplement your own original analysis.

Technical Analysis: Plain & Simple

will enable all investors to use technical analysis wisely, by fully understanding the theories, terms, risks and successful application.

If technical analysis is so simple, why isn’t everyone doing it?

The simple answer is that most technical terms used in charting confuse rather than enlighten investors. This book enables everyone to use technical analysis; providing a full understanding of the theories, terms, risks and successful application.

Technical analysis looks at actual trades where bulls and bears have put their money where their collective mouths are. There is no revision of data, no ambiguity and no mystical divining of the future. All market and stock selection is based on current, not past, price performance, the predictable behaviour of market participants and the dynamics between markets over time.

Use Technical Analysis: Plain and Simple to learn how to enhance your returns, avoid bad trades and think in term of probabilities.

Editorial Reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review
Pssst...fancy seeing a rounded bottom? Then technical analysis is for you. Technical analysis sounds an awful name for any subject, and it is, but it gets a bit sexier when you know it is a means to make money in the markets. TA is growing in popularity among online and traditional traders as a means of generating short-term stock trading ideas. Unlike fundamental analysis which involves examining a company's accounts, P/E ratios and the like, the technical analyst is more concerned with price charts and other graphical indicators. TA is a lot easier, quicker and more profitable for short-term (up to three-month) stock ideas than fundamental analysis; not so boring now, eh?

Technical Analysis Plain & Simpleis one of the best introductory guides to the subject of how to use technical analysis to generate trading ideas. It does exactly what it promises on the cover. It keeps the subject "plain and simple" but never superficial. As Kahn explains "this isn't brain surgery". All the essential key topics are covered: price charts, patterns and indicators, including the rounded bottom, and indeed a few rounded tops too. However, that would be a given. What takes a trading book further is how practical it is and whether it can be used to make money. The answer here is a definite yes. Reassuringly, Kahn even has a chapter entitled "Technical Analysis in the Real World" giving the book more of a practical cutting edge than even the classic Technical Analysis Explained by Martin Pring, the Lord of Technical Analysis.

Kahn has a sense of humour too and his writing style is conversational, engaging the reader and chatting to him (or her) rather than lecturing. Beyond that, he asks and answers the important questions so often neglected by academic technical analysts: is this a good trade? What makes a stock look good? Should you even be playing the game?

Don't let the "Plain and Simple" series title mislead you. Technical Analysis Plain and Simpleis for beginners, but it will also make an essential refresher and reference tool for the more advanced technical analyst. --Alpesh Patel

Review
"This book is an excellent primer. As a proponent of the art-versus-science school of technical analysis, his primary focus is on the practical aspects of chart reading and how to translate the intelligence derived from charts into investment decisions. If you have ever wondered what technical analysis is, or how you could get started doing it, this is a good place to start."John Bollinger, CFA, CMT, President, Bollinger Capital Management

"The best introduction to technical analysis there is.I was recommended to read this book during my induction period at a major investment bank. I studied Law at University so I had no idea what Technical Analysis was, until I read this astoundingly simple yet powerful book. Resistance & Support Levels are explained in a way that you will never forget the rationale for them after having read his chapter. This book has saved me from major embarassment in the markets!"

From the Author
An easy to read guide for invidual investors.
This book was designed with the needs of the individual investor in mind. The mysterious and often odd jargon of technical analysis is stripped out to leave the reader with basic techniques to improve investment results. Making money can be fun and this book reflects that attitude.

Compelling reading5
I only bought this book last week but found it absolutely compelling reading. I couldn't put it down and read it all in a day. Now I'm going back through it to make sure it all sinks in. I have only been trading since February and now realise why I've been losing money instead of making it. If I'd read this book sooner, I would not have invested in 90% of the stocks I did and probably would have been a lot better off. Hopefully, from now on I'll start winning!
