John Vincent has always led a life of danger, and now he has every reason to want to remain as dead as the obituary in the Australian papers had proclaimed him to be. He'd left nothing behind in the life he had once led - except for one woman, and one night of unforgettable passion. Now, both will return to haunts him. Bailey Serborne is still tormented by a past she can't change and a man she hasn't been able to forget. A man who was supposed to be dead. But now, a stroke of fate has revealed that sometimes, a woman is given a second chance to heal her heart - and exact the sweetest revenge.

Customer Reviews
Lora Leigh does it again...pretty much the same as the prequels, but HOT, SEXY!
I think that some of the reviews for this book have been a little unfair, as readers/fans should know that the Elite Ops series is all about Alpha male warrior-types who have been betrayed and end up disappearing for a bit, having facial surgery to change their appearance, and then making a reappearance under a new name, contracted to a 'nameless' fighting-the-baddies organisation. And, yes, their womenfolk pretty much immediately suss out that the 'new' men are their old men, if you know what I mean. So, knowing that, and knowing what LL's books are like, we're in for a pretty formulaic tale - Alpha males,sort-of-needy-but-also-feisty (for the most) females, hot, sweaty, descriptive sex, and a storyline that is not too dissimilar from the previous one. I love LL and she will always be an autobuy, and for me, this book did not disappoint, though, yes the editing was poor, and at one point, Trent was referred to as John, even before he'd been injured and re-born as John, and yes, a female character suffered a name-change. I knew beforehand that the tale would be a slight re-hash of Wild Card, not quite the same as Maverick (as there the female lead had never met the male lead, and was physically and mentally abused, so there was no feistiness to her), and I know that the future books, one of which, Black Jack is already available to preorder, are going to be along the same lines. LL always delivers hot sex, some tug-at-your-heart emotional scenes and a HEA, and that's why I buy her. Some of her series I like more than others, and in fact, her Elite Ops characters are nicer than those that came in its predecessor, her SEALs series. She allows me to escape from reality for a few hours in an untaxing read, taking me away from the pressures of work, so I will continue to read and enjoy her. The same can be said of her Breeds books in terms of similar storylines, but really, what else can happen when the books are built around a created world? Readers need to accept this and enjoy the tales for what they are: sex, sex and more sex and a storyline within LL's various worlds - they're certainly not aiming to win any literary prizes, they're pure escapism! Long-live LL!
Not as good as usual...
Too many characters, poor editing and, I never thought I would say this, but too much sex. It's just one sex scene after another, with a cast of thousands rushing about for a few pages (and I mean A FEW) in between. Maverick was better - much.
I'm not sure I will buy this series again.
I know we buy LL for the sex, for the created world (see previous review) etc, but I have to be honest and say that I found this book ... (holds breath) ... boring. There, I've said it, I have actually found a LL book boring.
Never thought I would.
Disappointing
Slightly disappointing - storyline okay but padded out too long - I became impatient to finish it and skim read the last third
