Jane was a sweet, funny, chubby seven-year-old, desperately seeking love from her self-obsessed mother, Vivienne, and a father who was wrapped up in a new life with his beautiful young girlfriend. Jane's only friend was handsome, funny, thirty-something Michael. Michael was different; no one else could see him, nor did they believe he existed beyond the realms of Jane's very creative imagination. They would talk from morning until night. As Jane grew older though, the time came for Michael to leave Jane's side. Jane couldn't forget him though. Over twenty years since Michael said goodbye, Jane catches a glimpse of that unforgotten face, her heart pounding, she can't believe it is true - could it really be Michael? This time though Michael isn't just a figment of her imagination. But will the path of true love be a smooth one? And will Jane get her happy ever after? "Sundays at Tiffany's" is a heart-warming romance about a girl who until now has lived her life on the sidelines, about what it feels like to fall in love, a tale of soulmates.

Fabulous romantic magic
I love love love this book. I brought it on a whim as I usually like James Patterson books but what a buy!!! It's nothing like his usual work no violence other than a couple punches, one really satisfying one that'll have you cheering as you read.
It's based on the idea that imaginary childhood friends are real but when you grow too old for them they leave and you forget them except Jane never forgets Michael. Twenty Three years later they stumble upon each other again and love blossoms but can she really have a lasting relationship with a man who is possible an angel?? And will her domineering mother let her?
This book is fabulous I can't sing it's praises highly or loudly enough. It's typical James Patterson book, short chapters and a story that you can't put down. I started this book late saturday night planningto read a couple of chapters having just finished one book and couldn't put it down I'm still paying for the all night reading session!!! There is no murder or crime but it's still great, a lovely book one that still has me smiling about it.
It's a genuinely lovely book. The Perfect book to read with a bottle of wine and a bar of chocolate tucked up in bed or soaking in the bath!!
I really REALLY recommend you buy this book!!
Wonderful read but not the normal Patterson!
If you are a Patterson fan but read the review and think "mmmm, that sounds a bit namby-pamby" then you are no different to me. I was dubious about the story, as it is so unlike anything James Patterson has done before.
The story focuses on Jane Margaux as a child and her imaginary friend. Her mum is a powerful figure on Broadway and makes preciosu little time for Jane. The only time that Jane spends with her mother is on a Sunday when they take the trip to Tiffany's to admire all the jewellery. It is there that she meets her imaginary friend Michael. With Jane's 9th birthday coming up fast Jane is devastated when Michael breaks the news that he will be leaving her for good. The story fast forwards to when Jane is in her thirties and is no different to when she was young. She is succesful in her career as a playwright but her mother is still the imposing and overbearing figure she once was. Jane then meets a man named Michael, who bears a frightening resemblance to her childhood imaginary friend. Will things work out for Jane or will things take a turn for the worse?
I have read all of James Patterson's work and to be honest my first impression was one of shock when I read this. Was this really by the same man who could scare me only 4 or 5 chapters in with a thrilling tale about serial killers. Yet here he was doing it, and to be honest doing it pretty well. The story is a completely different storyline to anything I have read before making it a refreshing read. The book was a little on the short side for my liking but didn't lessen the enjoyment of the read itself. All in all, I was left wondering how to measure my enjoyment.
Overall I think the writing was good, the storyline something new and the style of writing easy to read. I must admit that it was slightly disconcerting to read a James Patterson book with a real life love story and romance throughout!
Sunays at Tiffanys
This is the first of James Pattersons romance novels that I have read. I think it is an excellent read. It is told with heartwarming compassion and there are moment to make you laugh and cry. I really enjoyed this book and compared to the 'chick lit' novels I have read in the past this is a grown up tale of soulmates. Well written and heartwarming. A highly recommened read.
