Product Description

Gray's Anatomy for Students is a new and wholly original textbook of anatomy for medical and health professional students. Designed to be suitable for any type of curriculum, Gray's Anatomy for Students presents the essentials of clinical anatomy in a way that furthers complete understanding and firmly relates the study of anatomy to the clinical practice of medicine. Organized by region, the book provides, in each chapter, a conceptual overview that describes the function of structures within that region. The regional anatomy is described with frequent discussion of clinical relevance and illustrated with many imaging studies and an outstanding art program. Each chapter also contains a unique section on Surface Anatomy with outstanding photographs overlaid with anatomic diagrams - the focus of which is to relate anatomy to the physical examination of patients and the performance of medical procedures which require a knowledge of anatomy. Clinical Cases are used throughout to illustrate the relevance of anatomy to the practice of clinical medicine.

Review
Gray's Anatomy for students...comes with colourful diagrams, and...readable text. The book is separated by region, and at the end of each chapter is surface anatomy and a few clinical cases. Scattered around the book are boxes entitled 'In the Clinic', which gives useful information like locating pulses... A good clinical focus.
"MAD magazine, the official journal of Barts and The London Students'Association"
An easy to understand anatomy text book, with clear use of terminology and explanatory diagrams which is every medical students dream, and this can be found within the snazzy coverings of Gray's Anatomy for Student's. The strongest feature of this book is quite simply the way it's been written. This is a brilliant resource for medical students as the text takes the reader from the basics slowly but then reaches the more detailed anatomy. The diagrams are excellent. Gray's Anatomy for Student's is excellent. It is well laid out, clear, with good use of colour and some really nice features. It is a great book that should be an essential on every medical students reading list, as it does make learning anatomy feel easy. "Edinburgh Medics, a Res Medica supplement courtesy of the Royal Medical Society, July 2005"
This textbook provides a different approach to the introduction and detailed study of human anatomy accompanied by a collection of detailed and very informative illustrations. Faculty teaching anatomy in different health related disciplines looking for alternatives to the current standard textbooks should seriously consider this new edition.
"Clinical Anatomy"
The editors are to be applauded for these
particularly useful features as many anatomy booksoftenneglect function and how many regions of the body, such asthe thorax and abdomen, are related. Where relevant, embryology is also covered.
The clinical relevance of topographical anatomy, togetherwith surface anatomy, is highlighted throughout. At theend of each chapter there are clinical scenarios and tenshort questions demonstrating clinical applications of
anatomy, allowing the readers to test and apply their knowledge.

The key to my success!5
This book is wonderful i cannot praise it enough!

When i started med school i was told to buy clinically orientated anatomy (Moore and Dally) i struggled using this for the whole of my first year, and just before the exams i happened to glance at someone elses copy of Gray's and immediately ran out and bought it.

Topics that had baffled and evaded me all year became clear in an instant- the diagrams are that good! The explanations are more concise and not so waffly. The text is larger, so for me was much less intimidating. I will admit that the text is not as detailed as Moore and Dally, but for me this was a bonus, as i felt it was actually within my grasp, rather than just completely blowing me away!

Finally it is interesting that Birmingham University now reccomend this to their first year medics instead of Moore and Dally which they had used for many years. Also I'm pleased to say that having abandoned Moore and Dally, i aced my second year exams!!!

Worth every penny!5
I enjoyed this book very much. I am a medical student in Italy, and I used it for my Anatomy part 2 exam. I wish I had discovered it sooner!
Clear, simple, great pictures. I didn't use it alone because it lacks info sometimes, but it was great for understanding (really gorgeous pictures) and reviewing.
I strongly suggest it.

the best anatomy book ever4
This book is a life saver. It makes anatomy much easer to learn. The diagrams are FANTASTIC and by far the best aspect of the book (they are computer generated and hence make it very clear to see the structures and where they are in relation to each other). The text is well structured and divided into the regions of the body. The only criticism is that there are a few minor mistakes, but as it's a first edition this is expected.
