Editorial Reviews

Review
"Mike's Election Guide 2008," courtesy of Michael Moore, is a liberal, no-holds-barred examination of our politics. Pages explode with so much humor, you'll find yourself laughing out loud at Moore's sharp wit on serious topics such as health care, childcare, taxes and terrorism.

Review
Written with his characteristically bracing humour, this new book offers a scattershot commentary on some of the hot issues and a fanciful wishlist of policies.

Great humourous take on the US election5
Michael Moore keeps it brief but incisive in this commentary on the most enthralling American election of recent times. He uses his trademark style of humour and wit, combined with facts, to comment not only on the two main candidates and parties but also the state of democracy in America, making this an accessible read and a great overview of the election and its issues for outside observers.

Poor attempt at election season cash in1
I've no problem with a well-targetted cash in. It's American Presidential Election season so why not try to link your product to that and see if it boosts sales? So far so good. A topically funny guide to current affairs is no bad thing. This, on the other hand, is a very bad thing. A lightweight and hastily written mish-mash of rants and lame humour, this is a waste of your money. If you want to learn something about American politics then read P.J. O'Rourke's "Parliament of Whores" and see how the grown-ups do it.

a review for ppl who aren't bookworms - awesome book5
Okay I'm no expert on books and wotnot but I've always followed Michael Moore's writings and filmwork and I really respect the mans views on his own country which is nothing short of a shambles overall. I live in the UK myself but whats happening with the USA affects us all. This book is a real eye opener - all his sources are correct re: the 2 presidential candidates, I've followed a few of them up shortly after reading it and they hold true so he's not concocting words. There are facts about McCain that will chill your bones, and some words about Obama too that if he's reading the book will give him a kick in the pants to do whats right. There are facts on W. too that scared the pants off me. Its hilarious (though not quite stupid white men) and a very entertaining read that highlights the sheer ridiculousness of the whole voting system, the insane amount of money spent during the campaigns, what needs doing to sort the country out, and what the next president can do to put things on a better path for everyone. Well worth the pennies it cost
