There are no words
This has to be one of my favourite books of all time. I just love it.

There are no words to describe the beauty and skill in which Mr Williams tells a story. I have read everything he has ever written and if you only buy one book of his in your lifetime, make sure it is this one. It will move you beyond words and haunt you forever.

I am about to start reading it for the third time in as many years and each new page brings such utter indescribable joy.

Many people write books, but Niall Williams is a writer.

Magical Prose
This was an absolutely magical book. It is a beautiful, simple story written in such a way that you want to read it as slow as possible to savour every moment, picture and feeling. I loved it.

Beautiful Story, Excellently Told
A wonderful story of hope in despair and survival in extreme hardship. You will shed a tear or two - I certainly did!
