Synopsis
Developed by the Education Department of the Royal College of Physicians of London under the editorial direction of Dr John Firth, Consultant Physician, Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, UK, with contributions from over 60 expert physicians.
Medical Masterclass comprises 12 modules covering all areas of medical practice. The two basic science modules are clinically integrated and cross-referenced to cases in the clinical modules. One module covers emergency medicine and one deals with general clinical issues, including pain relief, palliative care and medicine for the elderly.
Eight modules cover the clinical specialities, each starting with case studies that define the core content by covering all of the common clinical presentations for each speciality, discussing the clinical approach, history taking, examination, differential diagnosis, investigations and management. These case studies are followed by a section for self-assessment and structured notes on specific diseases, treatments, investigations and practical procedures.
Covers all areas of clinical practice as well as the scientific background to medicine, general skills, emergencies and practical procedures
A distance learning publication specifically designed to support the candidate studying for the MRCP(UK) exam
Useful as a refresher course for the practicing physician, GPs, radiologists and psychiatrists
Each module contains a self-assessment section.
Numerous full-colour illustrations, clinical images and tables support the text
12 modules with over 2000 pages and 1800 illustrations
