Synopsis
Covers all aspects of RV living from choosing an RV and towing vehicles, to basic maintenance and cooking on the road.
From the Author
We've lived in RVs--and the advice is based on experience.
We're sorry the person from Texas didn't feel our book was a good investment--but we've received so many wonderful comments from other readers (through email)that we're disappointed that one section that was misedited (about the weight concerns)left this person so disgruntled. We know the stuff--but sometimes publishers change things before the authors see them. We're asking them to fix it on the reprint--if we sell enough books to have one (we hope). There's so much more in the book (based on experience and experts) about choosing an RV and living the lifestyle. The important point is to watch the weight limits--and if you need help we'll be glad to answer your questions. Sometimes authors don't see the final edits before a book goes to production--this shouldn't make people think the authors are uninformed. We've never seen a perfect book ourserlves. And if the reader doesn't think the other information is valuable--well, we can only say that many people feel that it is one of the best RV books on the market (even the library association--which knows a lot about books). So, please excuse any minor errors from the publisher and read and enjoy the other 99.9% of the book. We think you'll enjoy it like most of our readers have...and we'd like to know if you agree. And thanks to all of those who have taken the time to write us already. We appreciate your time and enthusiasm. Happy RVing to all. --Kim and Sunny Baker
Customer Reviews
The RVer's Bible
I live in England and we hope to become longtime RV'ers in the US in retirement. This was the second book I bought on the subject and by FAR the better. It covers every imaginable aspect of RV use and life in a clear, informative and balanced way. What more can I say? If you are considering or are committed to RV Life, this will tell you what you need to know in a clear and readable fashion. If there is a way in which it might be improved, it would be by a new edition updating it (it is almost 6 years old), particularly updating on effect of the the web as an information source etc. However, BUY! BUY! BUY!
This is an excellent reference book.
This author should consider developing a course and teaching it at the local junior college. It covers choosing the rv rig based on your objectives, the mechanical aspects of the various rigs (but in layman's terms, mind you), and rv lifestyles and activities. Some of the topics in the last section I have not seen covered in other books we have purchased, such as: Crossing borders, keeping in touch, kids and pets on the road, and cooking on the road.
Thanks to the author for sharing your knowledge with newcomers to the sport!
Everything I need to know in one handy book
I've thrown out all my other books and stopped looking for new ones on RVing. This book answered all my questions and more. I like the humor.....you have to have a sense of humor when you own an RV.....and I thought the content was much better than the Moeller's book. Anyone with an RV should have a copy on their bookshelf....and in their rv.
