Product Description

From the bestselling authos of Buffettology comes the ultimate book on investing in today's down market. Published in 1997, the bestselling Buffettology was tailored to the conditions of investors in the midst of a long bull market. Now, four years later, that market has seen once hot tech stocks crash and investors scramble to move their assets, or what remains of them, back to the safety of traditional blue chip companies. As peaks turn to troughs, worried investors wonder if there are any constants in today's volatile market. The answer is yes: Warren Buffett's value investing strategies make money. And, as The New Buffettology demonstrates, there is no time to acquire like today's bear market. The New Buffettology is the first guide to Warren Buffett's strategy for exploiting down stocks - a strategy that has made him the world's second richest person. Designed to teach investors how to decipher and use financial information like Buffett himself, this one-of-a-kind guide walks readers step-by-step through the equations and formulas Buffett uses to determine what to invest in and, just as importantly, when. Authors Mary Buffett and David Clark explore Buffett's recent investments in detail, proving time and time again that his strategy has earned enormous profits at a time when no one expects them - and with almost zero risk to his capital.

Now's the time4
An excellent, easy to read guide on how and when Mr Buffet select stocks that has made him buckets loads.
It fundamentally emphasizes the theory of value investing (Graham & Dodd) in which, given today's market (the end of the bear 2003) provides the best opportunity to practice the investing strategy taught.
The main principles seem to defy government warnings such that:
Past performance is a great guide to future performance and
The value of shares and stocks will go up once it's gone down. Read the book and you'll see why.
This book could make you serious money, if not, at least it'll polish up your maths.

Great Book!!!!5
The thrust here is simple - the American hedge funds are only interested in the quick buck and in the process of making huge bets on the short-term direction of shares they often misprice the shares in terms of the long term economic value of the business. When this happesn Buffett is there to buy the mispricing mistakes of the big American hedge funds. This book is great at telling you how to determine the long term economic value of a company and whether its shares have been oversold by the big hedge funds. This is not a book for quick in and outs - it is book for long term investers. I think it is the best of the Buffett books.

Interesting to read but too boring3
I bought this book and I was hoping to learn the method of how Mr. Buffett decide to buy a company's shares. However this book involved too much on Buffett's buying history from late 60s to late 90s. There is a steps by steps methodology for readers to follow on how to pick a valued company but too much things involved. It's very hard to follow as I have tried to look for lots of company but generally doesn't qualify to meet the guideline. It's very rare to find value stocks these days as other valued stock has gone so expensive. My opinion is that, the method taught here cannot be applied fully on today's market as the econmey is different to 30 years ago.

I agreed to the previous review this book can polish up your maths skills after reading it. Also the language in this book uses plain english, very easy to read.

If you want to learn the method Mr. Buffett uses, I'd recommand you to read something else.
