The best ending ever.
I got this early as my mum gets all books early and I have to say it is the perfect way to round of the trilogy. I dont want to give too much away, but it all comes to a massive climax in which you cannot put down in the middle of. It is the longest of the trilogy and quite rightly so. He doesnt miss out any detail. It is a bit more violent and a bit scarier, but as a thrilling ending, who says its all going to be allright...........

Cole finishes a good trilogy with average final novel
In the final part of Stephen Cole's Wereling trilogy, Kate and Tom are heading to Chicago to put a stop to the evil Takapa' s plans in a hope to keep the wolves in the shadows, but Takapa is formulating a plan to bring a dangerous wolf back to life.

The expectation was high following two really good engaging novels about two teenagers who had strong feeling for each other and with so much pain in their lives and though there are a few faults, it is a very good final instalment to the series.

Like in the two previous novels, Cole exploits the nature of the wolf with typical legendary conventions in hunger, aggression and desire, with the villain Takapa who epitomises these characteristics and through him, does the nature of good and evil shine in the final instalment.

As the tension mounts and the countdown to Christmas begins does the story creep into a more thriller genre, unlike the previous two, this is more flowing and the deadly situations are more tense and engaging.

However on numerous occasions Cole slips into descriptive mode and describes everything, where a little bit of imagination would have been better placed. And that was a numerous mistake with many situations could have been more exciting with imagination needed.

The characters are interesting again and Cole adds a couple new faces to keep it interesting. Though the need of extra characters was required as we dove more into the werewolf world, there seemed to be a predictable outline of all involved, and as in other books, the tension surrounding Kate and Tom and their feelings was good, but also frustrating and repetitive.

The settings could have been better and with less description it could have been more flowing. Nevertheless there is an excellent ending and the whole ideology of the novels is good and this third novel completes a good trilogy.

Wereling, the final battle.
The story rounds off in just the right way for Tom and Kate, but when they find out about a mysterious force collabrating with the 'wolves, they get the incling that something isn't right in Chicago.

All the surviving friends rejoin Tom and Kate in the final battle (excluding Jasmin and her little man) and a new face is helping them stop Takapa's plans for bring around "The time of the wolves"
With new friends and bizarre new Enemies, The Wereling reaches its climactic coclution.

Will Tom ever be able to express his full feelings to Kate though, and vise versa?
