Jack Travis is a macho Houston businessman - rich, tough and always in control. So when a beautiful young woman approaches his office carrying a baby that she claims is his, he's shaken more than he would ever let on. Stunned, Jack listens to Ella Varner as she explains that her sister recently gave birth and then abandoned her baby boy - and that enquiries have brought Ella to Jack's door. He virtually has a seizure when she asks him to do a paternity test. But ultimately, will a paternity test set things right? If Jack is the father, will he be the one to care for the baby? Would Ella be prepared to let him go? And if not? Ella can't bear to think of an answer...

Customer Reviews
Smooth talking stranger - fantastic!
I bought this book about a month ago but was not in the mood to read it immediately so left it on the shelf. What a mistake it was because I picked up the book late last night and could not put it down until I finished it.
This is the third in Lisa Kleypas comtemporary novels (following Sugar Daddy and Blue-eyed devil, both also fantastic books). The characters are lovable and the story is compelling and very sweet. Highly recommended.
Fantastic Read
I have just read Smooth Talking Stranger and it is by far one on her best. This is the third in a series [so far] each one with their own unique storyline. Each one every bit as compelling to read as the last. If you do nothing else today you should read this book it will brighten your day and put a smile on your face. I first found a Christina Dodd book at a car boot sale and bought it just to keep me going and boy oh boy l am glad l did. I have now read nearly all her books, and believe me there are plenty to choose from, and l have very rarely been disappointed with any. Well done Christina you never disappoint your readers, be it historical, or modern.
