Product Description

Bred by capricious parents for his innate leopard-shifting abilities, billionaire Jake Bannacotti has spent his life in an emotional vacuum - especially after a tragic twist of fate has left him to raise his infant son alone. But when his path crosses that of an enigmatic young woman, Jake's life takes a detour he could never have predicted. There is something irresistible about Emma Reynolds - something Jake can't live without. She's the first human to stir something in him he's never felt before so he hires her as his son's nanny to keep her close. It soon becomes apparent that she may not be all that she seems, yet what's raging between them is pure animal instinct - out of control, burning wild and as hot as the lick of a flame.

Hoping there's more of the same to come in CF's Leopard series...4
CF is an auto-buy, and I was impatiently waiting for this one, as she hasn't done a Leopard tale for some time. The book did not disappoint, and in some ways reminded me of Sherrilyn Kenyon's ACHERON, in the way that she laid it out i.e. part 1 - the beginning when we learn how Jake becomes the way he is and what he has endured, and part 2 - when he gets his HEA. Emma is a feisty female lead who gives as good as she gets and she is his complete opposite in personality, but Jake recognises early on why he is so attracted to her and that he loves her. The sex scenes are plentiful and scorching, so much so, that one in particular should come with a warning that it's more of the Ellora's Cave/Samhain/Berkeley Sensation type i.e. earthy, descriptive and more erotica than sensual. A wonderful tale, but perhaps not one that you'd want your mum to be reading!

FANTASTIC, MUST READ5
THIS IS THE SECOND SOLID BOOK IN THIS SERIES, THE FIRST ONE, FEVER, HAS 2 STORIES IN IT, A SMALL NOVELLA AND A FULL STORY AND THIS BOOK IS THIRD ALBEIT IN A SECOND BOOK FORM, IT IS ABSOLUTLEY FANTASTIC, A BRILLIANT READ, AN EXCELLENT STORY LINE, GREAT BELIEVABLE PLOTS, SINISTER CHARECTORS, HIGHLY EROTIC SCENES, AND A GREAT BUILD UP TO AN ETERNAL LOVE, THIS IS NOT A BOOK THAT AFTER 20 PAGES THE COUPLE ARE "IN LOVE"(I HATE THOSE BOOKS). THIS EXPLAINS THE TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS OF DIFFICULT LOVE WITH A PARANORMAL ROMANCE ITS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE BOOKS GREAT BUILD UP, ALONG SIDE J R WARD, KRESLEY COLE, GENA SHOWALTER ETC. FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!.

An improvement3
When I first started reading Christine Feehams books, I had loved them, however, after a few of them, it became obvious to me that her standard of writing had declined dreadfully, some of the books were barely readable, some were quite bizarre. So, gradually I had stopped buying her books, and just borrowed them, hoping that there would be an improvement back to her earlier standard.
However, I brought this one because I had liked her previous leapard book. The story wasn't so bad, it was a vast improvement on her previous books. There were still parts that were totally bizarre and didn't add at all to the story - the part where the guy comes on the female - yes, totally bizarre, Christine explains it as the guy marking her, to me it was degrading, and added nothing to the story. The female was again a real goody goody and both of them weren't really very interesting. Can we also have females that aren't the best at everything they do?

Whilst it was okay, it still wasn't up to the standard of Nalini Singh and Kresley Cole.
