Jeremy Marsh, a science journalist and debunker from New York, has set his sights on finding the real reasons behind the mysterious lights that appear in an ancient southern cemetery, and he heads to the tiny town of Boone Creek, North Carolina, in search of the truth. Sceptical by nature, he comes face to face with Lexie Darnell, the town's librarian, and as he slowly finds the answers he's looking for, he gradually begins to understand that science can only go so far when it comes to unravelling the mysteries of the human heart. Part love story, part ghost story, TRUE BELIEVER makes us believe in the impossible, trust in fate, and the undeniable power of love...

TRULY EXCELLENT !!!
I found this book a bit hard to get into at first but after about chapter 4 i was hooked.
Nicholas Sparks has done it again, he has wrote a truly amazing book. I felt as if i knew Lexie and Jeremy. I won't give anything away but read this book !!
I have just started reading the sequel at first sight and am hooked to that one too !!!!
was diappointed
i love the previous books i have read by nicholas sparks so was prepared to be an emotional wreck after reading this. but for me it was disappointing, essentially it was a good story and the characters were interesting and overcame their fears but just didnt get into the story and it just didnt pull me like the wedding or the notebook.
i will be interested to read the sequel to this novel "At First Sight" to see if its any better. not his best so dont let it put you off as he is an amazing author.
Truly Awful!!
I took True Believer with me to Thailand for a relaxing read on the beach. This book must rate as the worst I have read in years. The story, if you can call it that, is a tedious love yarn that could have been a bad short story but instead is dragged on and on and on and on and on and on.... until finally and mercifully it comes to a highly predictable conclusion. The characters are uniteresting, the tale which one hopes, from the beginning will develop into a fascinating story, simply drags onward. A small town in the U.S., barely described, with highly stereotyped characters provides the setting.
This book is ideal for those with sleeping disorders or as a gift for the neighbour you can't stand! I found it far easier to stay awake during my Thai massage than when I dared crack open the book. The only reason I finished True Believer was that I was expecting somewhere for the book to improve. I also towards the end realised that I had to write a review or should I say warning about the novel.
And I can't believe that I carted the hardback version with me!
