Average customer review:Product Description
This heavily illustrated directory describes nearly every canine breed. It includes recently recognised breeds, such as the Norwegian Buhound, the Pyrenean Shepherd, and the Swedish Vallhound. A succinct description of each dog cites its origins, its physical and temperamental traits, its average life span, all major health concerns, and its special needs, such as training, grooming, exercise, and adaptability to specific environments. A colour photo shows an example of each breed in its show pose and an adjoining photo provides a detailed head shot. Written by an expert on dog breeds, this spiral-bound book packs a wealth of information in a manageable size. It will serve as a handy guide for prospective dog purchasers, as well as trainers and breeders. Attractive and easy-to-use charts summarize the ease of care for each breed.

The Dog Breed Bible
I think the other reviewers have just been looking at the pictures. Not that i'm criticising the pictures, they are all very cute! My only issue, and its my own fault for not reading the small print before i bought it. This is an American book. Many of the breeds have different names in America, for example Jack Russell becomes Parson Russell. Its a great book though with lots of helpful hints when trying to decide on a breed. I just wish I'd bought an English book instead.
Brilliant
This is a very comprehensive and understandable guides to most breeds and I would well recommend to anyone who is unsure which dog is for them or who wants to move into dog education and understanding different breeds and their strengths and characteristis.
The perfect book for a dog-mad daughter!
My 8 year old daughter chose this book herself and she absolutely loves it. The pictures are great and the text tells you just enough about the breed. It also comes with a ring-bound spine so it lies flat when open, making it a good book to read in bed!
