Another fantastic read from Robyn Carr
I pre-ordered this book in July having just finished the three books prior to it in the series (Virgin River, Shelter Mountain and Whispering Rock) and loving all three. Between the pre-order and reading this book I have read almost all of Ms Carr's other novels and have been blown away by her writing. The characters are so real that you genuinely feel their emotions and in this story (for me at least) that resulted in a few tissues being needed. This is the story of Marcie Sullivan, a 27 year old widow of the Iraq war and her quest to find her late husband's best friend who had rescued him when he was injured. Ian Buchanan does not want to be found and made to think about the past. Marcie is not a typical romance heroine, both her and Ian's grief is tangible throughout the book and you are never certain of the outcome. All the favourite characters from the previous books make an appearance, but you don't need to have read them to read this one (although as they are great I would!)This is an excellent read and I couldn't put it down. I very much look forward to the next three installments of the Virgin River series early next year.
