Top marks for this classic text
An engaging, stylishly written book by a historian who knows the age of FDR inside out. It perfectly captures the ambivalence of Truman, the temperamental side of Eisenhower, the disdain of Kennedy and Carter and the saturnine qualities of Nixon. Then it tails off a bit, relying too much on newspaper quotations. But as a tribute to FDR's impact, it is unequalled.
