Not for the faint-hearted...a truly radical book on love and relationships
If you've seen the 2008 movie "Fireproof" then you'll know exactly what this book is. But you don't have to have seen the film to read and benefit from the book - it stands alone.

The "Love Dare" is a 40 day programme for one half of a couple to carry out on their own. Each day has a short meditation, a bible verse, and a 'dare': something, perhaps something very simple, to do for the other person.

The book's premise is that true love is unconditional, so therefore you need to keep going through the book regardless of your partner's reaction. If, as in the film, things are thrown back in your face, that's going to be hard going...but quite possibly lifechanging.

This book certainly has the power to rescue a failing marriage. But it would also bring fresh love and fine tuning to any relationship. And check out the appendices for a simple list of questions to ask your partner concerning his or her thoughts, feelings and aspirations. Simply doing that did me a power of good.

"Never leave your partner behind"
"Fireproof" is a thought provoking film and book about relationships. The old fireman's adage: "Never leave your partner behind" applies to our relationship with our partner/spouse. The film and book looks at the basic principles behind good relationships - and the director's commentary to the film is excellent and worth listening to and not preachy. This book "The Love Dare" is given by the father to the central character in the film "Fireproof" and consists of 40 days of tasks/actions. It's so very difficult to have a healthy relationship with our partner/spouse if we do not have a relationship with God. Do watch the film and read this book. There is an associated study guide for the film for you and your partner to work through together and this book can be given to someone who has a relationship problem. I loved the film and found this book helpful.

No Married Couple Should be Without This!

The love dare is an excellent book based on the DVD Fireproof.
It is a stand alone book and it is designed to strenthen marriages and assist in resolving difficulties, leading the heart and not letting feelings dictate is a major component.
The introduction and section 7 should be read once per month and whole short book read by both together at least once per year
