Stunning Pictures but useless calendar
I have to say I am a bit disappointed with the calendar. The pictures are out of this world - so beautiful. However the calendar is useless as it is just a row of numbers underneath the picture. Not even days of the week. I needed a calendar for writing things on so this is definitely no good for me. However the price is excellent so I will be framing the pictures instead and getting a different calendar.

Also the packaging from Amazon was ridiculously oversized and a real waste of cardboard.

Stunning images, high gloss paper, lovely item
The calender is no good if you want to write on it with family birthdays and such - thought I should say that straight away. The paper is very high gloss and the dates are displayed as numbers only along the bottom.

However, if like me, you are looking for a calender that actually makes you want to stand and gaze at it to see every tiny detail, this is a great choice.

If you have seen Yann-Arthus Bertrand's exhibitions, you will know the quality photography he uses to capture truly stunning images of people, animals and geological features from the air. Seemingly mundane things are transformed into beautiful, interesting images and dramatic geology is presented from a viewpoint that most of us will never be likely to take advantage of unless we all learn to fly a microlight.

Most things look different when viewed from the air but this is one step further, each subject is chosen not just for the novelty of an overhead view, but for the intensity of the colours or the textures, the simplicity of the subject matter and so on.

I can recommend this calender - it would not look out-of-place if it were framed actually.

Birthday calendar
Many thanks for the first review. Even though it rated this calendar a measerly 2 stars it gave me the vital piece of information that made me buy it. With no days of the week allocated to the days of the month, it is the ideal permanent calendar to put all those birthdays and anniversaries in. The pictures are of timeless beauty and interest and will be good for many years to come.
