This is the perfect script for students wanting to do well!
We used this play for our A-level drama performance and we all really enjoyed it. It was stretching to work on but gave lots of opportunity to shine. The six individual main characters allow for real in-depth character development and hopefully good marks at the end of it! The play itself is incredibly moving and successfully contrasts humour with a sadder content. I would suggest that it is perfect for a small theatre company who really want to get their teeth into a production!!

Excellent
This has to be one of my favourite plays of the late 20th Century. It is witty, hard-hitting and at the same time heart-warming. If you are a small theatre group in search of a good play, you have found it. My favouite Characters have to be Ouiser and Clairee with their constant bickering. The film version starring Julia Roberts as Shelby is also good.
