Customer Reviews
Because truth is stranger than fiction
This is one of the most gripping books I have ever read. The fact that it is based on a true story makes it even more amazing. The author does not try to exuse or explain his behaviour - although any reader with intelligence could draw their own conclusions about why he turned out the way he did. This book will make you rethink your views on the "real" homeless that exist in this country. If people want a predictable read with a hollywood ending - dont buy this book.
An absolute waste of everybody's time
I tried my best to read "Addict" but found it so poorly written and so completely unbelievable that I was forced to just give up. I could not believe the comment below comparing it to Dave Peltzer's beautifully written autobiographies. An absolute joke of a book. Avoid.
I'm afraid not
I am afraid I found this book to be a little bit dull. I have read many similar true life stories but this one didnt really engage or grip me in the way that many of the others have. The story seemed a little bitty, and the ending was actually quite sad, with his rescue from the streets actually coming through a girlfriend who only seems to have pitied him. Not very enjoyable unfortunately.
