Product Description

They're down - but not out.

The Company thought it had taken care of the Losers. After they saw a little too much at the wrong place and time, their chopper went down in flames with no survivors and plenty of deniability - and the Losers went down in the records as just another team of black ops foot soldiers tragically lost to one of the CIA's shadow wars.

But the Losers were just playing dead - and now that they've seen what the Company is really up to, they're through with games. Now it's time to take the fight back to its source.

Time for some payback...

Two of 2000ADs new guard show that they can play with the bi5
The Losers is a caper movie with a $150 million budget turned into a comic book! The characters are instantly engaging and the situation they find themselves in is interesting and provocative with obvious long term appeal. Continuing the movie-analogy - you can see the sequels coming already!

The story concerns a team of CIA black ops that have been hung out to dry by their handler, the mysterious Max. The CIA, in fact, believes them dead. The Losers are here to show them that not only are they alive and kicking but that they're kicking them in the head!

Whilst the plot initially appears to be a simple "boys own" yarn, it actually nicely twists about and with Diggle's added real-politick undertones this is a cracking read.

Whilst Jock's art is excellent at conveying the action and high-explosive nature of this story it does occasionally come unstuck when required to do subtle facial expressions (not helped by the facial similarities of two of the lead characters). But this is a minor quibble as "subtle" is not a word that needs to be used to often when describing "The Losers".

In summary - if you like high-octane political caper movies then this is for you (especially at this bargain introductory price!)

I was originally reading this through a friend, but bought the graphic as I enjoyed it so much. The story is paranoid and extreme, but good, with lots of action and several twists. The artwork by Jock is clear and simple. All in all, a very enjoyable read.
