Art: The Definitive Visual Guide5
This is a beautifully presented book with great colour pictures. It is suitable for those who already have an interest in and some knowledge of art and also for beginners wishing to start learning. It is well set out in manageable, readable, subject areas, with the text well illustrated to aid understanding. I would recommend the book for adults and young people of secondary school age and above. It is terrific value for money.

absolutely lovely5
I bought this book for myself as a treat. I dont have much time for hobbies, but I like art and art history although Im no expert in either. This book is so lovely, its like an indulgence turning every page. Im dipping into it every night and learning so much, the writing is outstanding and the pictures are beautiful. This book is a treasure and I love it. Amazing value, a book to keep for life.

A fantastic resource for quick referencing (I was introduced to this book by a dyslexic student who found it a great way to narrow down research). The bite size chunks of info and beautiful colour reproductions are very accessible and every example is linked via a timeline and movements in art, giving examples of other artists who can be linked to the artist/style. It won't give the reader much in depth knowledge but it's a great big beautiful book to have around.
