Gorgeous books, easy to read
This is a gorgeous little book with lots of pictures and nice straightfoward tips to decorating. Pretty basic stuff, don't expect any earth shattering tips that you wouldn't find in any magazine, but nicely compiled room by room makes this an easy and practical read.
Wonderful inspiration for your home
I love this book. I am buying a new house, and was totally clueless about how to go about decorating it. A lot of the 'design' books on the market focus on the really high end properties - designer homes for designer people. This is really about making a house a home - a beautiful and practical home that is a pleasure to live in. It gave me so many ideas and inspired me to think of my own!
Stunning
This book is stunning as soon as you pick it up you know you are in for a treat the front cover itself is slightly padded and a good indication of things to come.
The book goes through each room in the house starting with the entrance way. It includes stunning photography of many different examples of rooms and includes ideas for finding inspiration outside the home and translating it into home decor step by step.
My favourite bit of the book is that at the end of each chaptar there is a double page spread giving examples of incorporating the ideas in the chapter for smaller rooms.
As someone who lives in Central London I dream of having the room to be able to decorate my home like the magazines, however being severely constrained by space this really makes the ideas shown in the chapter take on quite a practical element. Whether I get round to actually putting these ideas into practice is another story however the photos and design are worth their weight in gold and if nothing else it makes a stunning coffee table book.
