Edge of Eternity is an other-worldly novel which stretches the reader's imagination, helping him or her to realize that things--and people--are not always what they appear. In this other world--called Skiathuros (window of darkness)--the main character Nick Seagrave is able to catch glimpses of the normally invisible worlds that surround him. Being able to see into heaven and hell both surprises and disturbs Nick, who has lived his life on earth unaware of and indifferent to the spiritual realm. Through Nick's eyes the reader is able to see the eternal in a new and fresh way. After my last two novels Deadline and Dominion (both best-selling murder mysteries with some other-worldly elements), I knew Edge of Eternity was risky, in that it defies categories and early on the reader is disoriented, along with the main character. But as Nick awakens to the realities that press upon him, so does the reader--and I'm delighted to be receiving many emails from readers very excited about the book. One of my favorite is from a 13 year old boy who said Edge of Eternity "has made a profound impact on my life" and "has turned my life around." Those kinds of responses make all the sweat and tears that went into writing the book more than worth it.

An outstanding blessing!
Alcorn's style is superb! Edge Of Eternity was impossible to put down from the very start. The Christian theme is a masterpiece! I had to wonder if it was God's plan to have this book written...I believe it is so. This book blessed me in ways I cannot completely describe. It touches you with a deeper sense of the spiritual battles constantly taking place around us. I can only hope that Mr. Alcorn will write more books just like this one...and soon! You'll cry from joy and pain, laugh, rethink how your personal walk with the Lord is going, get your spiritual eyes opened wider and hunger for a closer walk. The whole plot is intriguing and so touching. You'll be able to relate to this work of art in your every day life. I consider this book one of the all time greats and is in my "Hall Of Fame" of books along with Piercing The Darkness, This Present Darkness, The Third Millennium and The Fourth Millinnium....with Edge of Eternity at the top! A really uplifting book because you can relate to it in so many ways. I have highly recommended this book to those who hunger to be closer to the Lord!

Definitely a "must-read"!! Great gift idea, too....
Randy Alcorn has done it again! His DEADLINE (don't miss that one, either) and DOMINION whetted my appetite for his fiction, but nothing prepared me for this complete departure from his usual style. Standing as we in my opinion do at "the end of the age" of which Christ spoke, we desperately need to re-think our choices on a daily basis. As Alcorn says in EDGE OF ETERNITY, "We live our lives in eternity's lobby ... walking toward a door that will forever seal our destiny." Prepare to be shaken out of your comfort zone. Prepare to meet your Maker! Prepare to experience the EDGE OF ETERNITY!!

Had to read it twice!
It gave me goose bumps! The trip across the chasm...the sinking under the tree...WOW! This book has left me with a clear sense of understanding what we need to overcome. The good news: We are loved even through sin. I did read it twice, taking time to parallel actual real life situations. I learned a lot from this simple work of fiction. Thank you, Randy. I anxiously await your next book.
