Great introduction to economics5
Robert Murphy explains economics to the layperson in an entertaining and very readable book. Simply the best introductory text on economics I've ever read (and I've read a lot of them). Thoroughly recommended.

Outsourcing and Corporations seem suspect4
How every you argue it outsourcing will often shrink the pool of potential jobs and total wages more that will be compensated by new jobs. Outsourcing of skilled and unskilled work, and production can be a fatal mistake, because you build competition for and reduce the wealth producing capacity of the country which originally hosted the jobs. The USA and UK face this perils now, so have decreasing ability to feed the increasing greed of government and the banks.

Corporations, in many countries, are not true creations of capitalism, but of socialism, they externalise many costs, while privatising the profits, which can eventually lead to Corporatism aka Fascism. It is no accident that corporations are the main practitioners of outsourcing.
