Product Description

From the pages of "Fables", the hugely imaginative story of a group of fairy tale folk exiled from their mythical homelands and forced into a secret existence in modern-day America, comes the tale of "Jack - of "...the Beanstalk" fame! Revelations are coming - not least of which is that Jack's endless self-promotion and desire to be centre of every story has resulted in him getting a dirty great big sword stuck through his chest. Plus Wicked John, the Page sisters, and Babe the increasingly odd Blue Ox! Fables creator Bill Willingham, Matthew Sturges (Midwinter) and penciller Tony Akins (Hellblazer: Papa Midnite) present an all-new adventure! Warning: This book is intended for adults only!

Customer Reviews

The plot hits a wall, or falls off a cliff (literally)3
This is easily the worst of all of the Fables books, even after half a dozen reads. After the earlier books and the character of Revise looming large, this book really goes nowhere for over half its content, and indeeed, 'Jack' comments upon this. It reads as if BW was on holiday but the plot carried on without him. The book only redeems itself once you've read the next two/ three volumes, but still, not the best.
