Best dog book there is!5
If you are a new dog owner or an experienced dog owner of many years, this book is invaluable. It was recommended to me by a dog owner of many years, and I have recommended it to other friends and family since.
I was a new dog owner two years ago, and it's like having a new baby. You are worried about all those little behaviors, problems and ailments that you have not come across before, and this book explains them all exceptionally well. It really is a useful encyclopedia on the physiology and ailments of dogs, immediate treatment you can do and whether the problem requires a visit to the vet. It covers everything from choosing and raising a puppy, nutrition and feeding, training and behaviour, mishaps and problems, with lots of "what if my dog gets tar on his feet?" & "What if my dog won't eat?" type question and answers. A really good section on health and illness, anatomy, infectious diseases etc, Another great section on first aid for your dog, and accidental poisoning and how to look for signs and symptons of illness.
This book really does cover nearly everything, and is a fantastic reference. It is always to hand in our house, and we have referred to it many times already. It is reassuring to have around and be able to refer to it, before panicking and phoning the vet for another expensive visit. It is written in both an informative easy to read way, but with encyclopedia type sections with lots of facts and information. Highly recommended for any dog owner.

Doglopaedia review5
An absolute must for any responsible dog owner, jam packed with everything you could possibly need to know in one little book!

technical, but not in depth3
this book is great at skimming lots of subjects, but not in any depth. I'm doing a dog psychology course, and expected this book to have lots of indepth detail about dogs, behaviour, psychology, and physical information, but was solely dissapointed. If you want a book you can get your teeth into, don't buy this one there are many others that cover the same subjects with much more detail, in less technical language. But also there are books that cover the subjects in a much clearer technical way, this book is neither one or the other, which i found annoying. I'd rather a book be catered for the general dog owner, or the specialist, this tried to be all to everyone and failed miserably. Not detailed enough to be a good student book, but too technical in some parts to be a laymans book. Missed the mark.
