Synopsis
In "The U.S. Constitution", you will see the entire text of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence - and much more! You will find interesting insights into the men who wrote the Constitution, how it was created, and how the Supreme Court has interpreted the Constitution in the two centuries since its creation.
From the Author
You'll be amazed at how interesting the Constitution can be!
I have been an American history teacher since 1970 (Advanced Placement United States History since 1983), and have been tremendously interested in the Constitution in terms of its legal and historic importance. When the chance came to write a book about the Constitution, I was very anxious to put something together that would be both fun and informative. The Constitution has been the most remarkable document in American history, because it has stood the "test of time" for more than 200 years, and its longevity is based upon its flexibility (or "its perpetuity" is founded on "its ambiguity"). "The U.S. Constitution and Fascinating Facts about It" is not only a book that features the documents associated with the Constitution (including the actual Constitution), but it also highlights many of its most important and interesting aspects. You will read about what happened to the Founding Fathers, learn about the importance of the Supreme Court in interpreting the Constitution, and have access to a glossary of terms to help you understand basic constitutional and legal concepts. The book also contains a list of important dates in the development of the Constitution and an interesting section on the amending process. This is a book for young and old alike!
