A good introductory text
This book integrates psychoanalytic theories with attachment theory, giving an accurate account of both. It tries to identify the points where the two sets of ideas have developed so that there are genuine points of contact between the two domains and where the two have grown appart. The book reviews and makes constant references to attachment research. It is an exceptionally helpful integration which I would recomend to students of psychology or psychotherapy.
