About the Author
During his career in the City, Dominic Connolly has worked for some of the most prestigious trading institutions in London. In 1990, he joined the index arbitrage, derivatives and program trading desk at Smith New Court, Londons top market-maker, which pioneered the application of the equity contract for difference (CFD) product in the UK. He joined Bankers Trust in 1993, one of the powerhouses of the equity derivatives revolution, where he established the European equity arbitrage desk. In 1999, he joined GNI and was instrumental in establishing GNI as one of the premier providers of equity CFDs to both institutional and retail users. During the period 1999 to 2003, the authors trading account returned a net return after all costs of over 1200 per cent, predominantly through utilising CFDs to trade the UK market both long and short with leverage. The author is currently director and head of CFDs at ING, the Dutch bank, insurer and financial services provider and remains an active investor.

AAA+++
Well worth the investment. You dont just read this book you constantly refer to it untill you are the master of your destiny.
Well presented and educational only if you want to learn your trade inside and out.
Great...but getting old
This is THE book for stock market traders, but the crash of 2008 suddenly makes it look very old, having most of the examples from 2003 and 2004 doesn't help the book feel topical, even if the content is still generally relevant. I'd have given it five stars in 2006 or 2007, it's now down to four stars, and it'll be three stars in 2010 if it isn't refreshed. A classic like this really deserves an update.
He really is
Mr Connolly really is an expert in his field. This book is a necessary part of a trader's armoury and despite the frustrating index, this book is full of hidden gems. The part about Lord Hanson "disappearing as silently as he came", made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck as i read it. However, it his indepth understanding of the UK Equity market and how it actually works that makes Mr Connolly's book so good.
