Excellent CD to help my daughter relax
This is the third of christine kerr cd's we have, and all of them are beautiful, relaxing ways to help my 8 and now 9yr old daughter relax at the end of the day. She has an active imagination and loves the stories. Christine voice is very relaxing and can't wait for the next one!

Mermaids & Fairy Dust
I had read great reviews about this audio CD so I was expecting miracles! I found that my daughter (age 5) didn't really have the patience to lie still and pay proper attention to this. She wanted to hear the mermaids talking, which they don't. There just aren't enough sound effects - it is the same background music on a loop and the same tone of voice. This is supposed to make for a relaxing, soothing listening experience, but we were onto a loser because my little girl decided that she didn't like the narrator's accent - I think any British accent would have been under threat since a diet of Disney & Barbie has had great influence in the mermaid department! She really wanted to be able to hear the water splashing and the dolphin calls and became bored rather than relaxed.I tried lying beside her to encourage her to lie still & listen and nearly dropped off myself. Quite soothing for the exhausted parents to listen to!

This CD really works!
My five year old daughter has always hated going to bed. The minute I left her room she would find a reason to call me back. It could sometimes take up to two hours to settle her. I've tried back massages, lulluby CDs, letting her look at her favorite book in bed, but within a week or so the novelty would wear off and I would have to find another 'crutch'. I can't remember where I read about this CD but thought I'd give it a try. At first, my daughter refused to listen to it. Then, one afternoon when she was playing in her room, I found her listening to it and again one evening when I went to check on her after putting her to bed. She now listens to it every night. Not only does she now stay in her room after I have left and not call out, but she can also settle herself when she wakes in the night by putting the CD on again. Cristiane Kerr has a soothing, almost hypnotic voice and my daughter loves her stories of fairies sprinkling fairy dust. Trust me, if this works for my daughter, it will work for yours too. I urge you to buy this CD NOW!
