"I guess it had gone okay with Stevie Rae. I mean, she had agreed to meet me tomorrow. And she hadn't tried to bite me, which was a plus. Of course, the whole trying-to-eat-the-street-person thing was highly disturbing..." Zoey's best friend, Stevie Rae, is undead - in an eww! zombie! kind-of-way, not in a cool vampire kind-of-way. She's struggling to retain her humanity and Zoey doesn't have a clue how to help. But she does know that anything they discover must be kept secret. Trust has become a rare commodity. Sinister forces are at work at the House of Night, where the line between friend and enemy is becoming dangerously blurred. Not suitable for younger readers.

Much better!
I bought the first 3 books all in one go, and found the first one(Marked) quite difficult to get through, the authors have lovely ideas, but I found the writing a little immature & although I agree that introducing us to the new school & students is key, there wasn't enough going on outside of that.
The second book (Betrayed) was better, the authors do well at making you sympathise with the characters & the storyline was more interesting, but I found the catch-up(for people who hadn't read the first book) quite painful...I found myself skipping entire pages because I couldn't stand reading the same stuff over & over again.
The third book (Changed) was fantasatic! It felt like a nice reward after struggling through the first 2 books. Although the repetitive element was there again, the irritation was easily dissolved with the exciting storyline!
I have ordered the next 2 books...so all-in-all, I'd say, if you can get through the first 2 books, it's well worth reading the series.
Spellbinding
this third book in the series, truly captivates you and makes you want more.
a truly special series and lots of plot twists.
the only problem i have with this book is the choices zoe makes, boyfriend wise.i spent most of my time reading the book cringing, thinking 'what are you thinking zoe'
definatly one for girls
OMG!
The house of night series is seriously addictive and the books just get better and better. I LOVED this book, so many unexpected things happen, the realtionships are believable and you can definately relate to the protagonist Zoey Redbird. It made me laugh and feel happy, sad, nervous, anxious...just OMG! If you've read the first two house of night novels (marked and betrayed) then trust me this is a must read! And if you haven't read any of the house of night novels then what the hell are you doing with your life?! Buy marked and get reading!
-these novels are for teenage girls btw- x
